Bending Rules
AMAZED residents had a new dimension added to their lives earlier this month when Uri Geller visited Nightingale Home in Nightingale Lane, Balham. A large crowd, packed into the home’s new concert centre, watched Uri bend Nightingale spoons before their very eyes. They also witnessed a mysterious changing of time on watches. Uri, who spent over an hour at the home, told those present his life story. He spoke of his army training, and how he became a paratrooper. He then became a model and explained how, by chance, he had shown a photographer how he was able to bend spoons and other metal objects. The photographer then booked him as an entertainer. Uri has appeared around the world to packed audiences but his busiest time was in the mid 1970s. Today, Uri writes a great deal and teaches other people to understand their own powers. He also has the power to heal and receives regular visits from people to his home.
