Geller raises his reward to $75,000
BY SIMA DHAMECHA
London, April 30: Israeli psychic Uri Geller, who only days ago offered a reward of $50,000 for the safe return of the four hostages held captive by Al-Faran militants in Kashmir, has said he is prepared to increase the amount to $75,000.
The 50-year-old Israeli, famous for his telekinetic (power of thought) abilities, has been working closely with the families of the two British hostages Keith Mangan and Paul Wells to secure their release for the past month. He told The Asian Age: “I decided to offer the money because, unfortunately, money moves things. Although $75,000 is a lot of money, it’s not really that much when you place the amount against the value of human life. I decided to get involved with the campaign because the kidnappers are holding innocent people. Because I am a father, I understand how desperate the families are feeling.” Mr Geller believes the militant group is not materialistic but political and said he was prepared to travel to India.
