Morley praise for healer Uri as Hoddle sues him
EXCLUSIVE
By HUGH SOUTHON
ENGLAND coach Glenn Hoddle last night confirmed he is to sue psychic Uri Geller for libel and malicious falsehood.
But today we can reveal that the famous spoon bender, who claimed in a Sunday newspaper that Hoddle had visited him at his Berkshire mansion a couple of years ago, has at least ONE admirer in the game.
Geller once cured Reading striker Trevor Morley of a nasty cyst on his knee. And while Hoddle denies ever calling on the psychic and will be seeking a six-figure sum in damages, Morley remains grateful to the Israeli.
He explained: “Uri laid his hands on me for eight minutes in a darkened room and the growth at the back of my knee disappeared. It was remarkable and I’ve got nothing but good to say -about him.”
It was the only time the 37-year-old had drawn on Geller’s mystic powers during an injury-ravaged career.
But now he wishes he’d used him a bit more frequently. And Morley revealed: “He used to come on to the training ground, preaching the power of positive thought at us.
“But when he burst into the dressing room at half time during one match, it didn’t go down too well with the manager and I’ve not seen him since.”
