Uri miracle is joy for Jamie
By David Wells
A MOTHER believes her disabled son escaped intensive surgery because psychic Uri Geller helped heal a weak bone in the boy’s hip using Mindpower.
Paula Patrick says her nine-year-old son’s new health is “a miracle” and she is convinced Mr Geller played a part in his recovery.
The youngster, who suffers from a bone-withering form of arthritis called Perthes Disease, was due to undergo an intensive operation before Christmas at Nuffield Hospital, Oxford.
Surgeons were planning to place Jamie in a full body plaster to heal a bone in his hip.
But when they checked him over before surgery they discovered his bone had started to heal all by itself.
Now Jamie of Lovel Road, Chalfont St Peter, is walking around without his crutches and riding his bike – Christmas present – for the first time.
His mum Paula, who was originally sceptical about the power of the mind, believes he got better after visiting Uri Geller at his home in July, last year.
Mrs Patrick said: “I was amazed. I thought it was brilliant, but at the time I didn’t think there was any more to it. I was just glad to have Jamie home for Christmas.”
“Then Uri rang us up. He said he had been thinking of Jamie all the time and wanted to know how the operation went.”
“Uri says he is not a healer, but I keep an open mind. If he’s not healing Jamie, at least he’s giving him a lot of hope.”
Jamie was taken to Mr Geller’s house by family friend Phil Ward, who is also a friend of Mr Geller, and spent a day there with his mum and his sister Cara, 11.
Mr Geller tried bending one of Jamie’s metal crutches using his Mindpowers and even put his hand on the youngster’s diseased hip to try and make it better.
Jamie’s mum Paula said her son’s health seemed to improve after the visit and she claimed he didn’t need to use his crutches as much.
