SWISS champions Sion claim one of the goals used for their UEFA Cup match at Spartak Moscow on Tuesday was too small. Sion, who drew 2-2 to lose 3-2 on aggregate, have asked UEFA to award them the game 3-0. A UEFA match delegate reportedly found the crossbar on one goal to be 14cm below the regulation height of 2.44m.
URI GELLER is holding talks about investing in Second Division Oldham Athletic. Oldham chairman Ian Stott confirmed the interest of the millionaire ‘spoon-bender’. Geller said: ‘I have been looking to become involved in football and I have spoken to several First Division clubs. ‘Untortunately, although I have money to invest, I’m not that well off.’
