David Bohm
David Bohm was educated at Pennsylvania State College and the University of California, Berkeley. He studied under
J. Robert Oppenheimer and researched at the Lawrence Radiation Laboratory in Berkeley; he held posts at the Institute of Advanced Study in Princeton, the University of Sao Paolo and Haifa. David Bohm worked with Albert Einstein while at the Institute for Advanced Study where he had many discussions with Einstein. From 1961 he was Professor of Theoretical Physics at Birkbeck College, London University, where he continued to contribute new ideas until his death in 1994.
His research included plasma physics, extending the concepts from this to many-body systems. He wrote many popular and theoretical books on such topics as quantum theory, relativity and the role of causality and chance in modern physics. He proposed radical new theories which lay a framework to go beyond current quantum mechanics and make good some of its failings. Professor Basil Hiley, his collegue, carries on his work today. David Bohm was present when Uri Geller demonstrated his powers at Birkbeck College. His books include, amongst many others, Wholeness and the Implicate Order, ISBN 0744800005, Ark Paperbacks. The Undivided Universe, ISBN 0415065887, Routledge.
