ENGLAND CALL-UP FOR URI GELLER

Mind-bending boost

By ANDREW LINES

ENGLAND boss Terry Venables has sensationally called in mindbender Uri Geller to help his struggling squad.

The psychic maestro has been put on standby to join players at their hotel. mirr
Geller said his mystical touch could be what the team needs to help them prepare for Saturday’s crunch match with Scotland.
Venables wants him to see the players and provide “a demonstration” of his powers.
Geller, 49, who made his name bending spoons on TV, has told the Football Association he would be happy to visit the England players and give them a “psychic boost”.
He feels it would be enough to make them beat the Scots after Saturday’s dismal display against Switzerland.
And he claimed he could have helped them to Wembley victory then if he had seen them last week.
England Team Administrator Michelle Rogers sent Geller a fax trying to work out a convenient date for him to visit the team hotel at Burnham Beeches, Bucks.
It read: “Further to our conversation yesterday I spoke to Mr Venables about the possibility of you coming to the England team hotel for a demonstration.”
“We are going to have a look at our commitments for next week and see if we can find a suitable date.”
Geller is even set to use the 1966 World Cup winning ball in his quest to get England on the road to glory.
He said “I would like them all to touch it as an inspiration. If I can see the England team they will win against Scotland on Saturday.”

“I will tell them to have confidence, to visualise themselves scoring a goal. They can work up their own powers.”
“I want to give them a psychic boost.”
“If I have 15 or 20 minutes with them I will be able to bend something and do telepathy.”
“If I could have seen them before the Switzerland game it would have been a different result”
Geller added: “I left a message at Bisham Abbey to offer my services and then I was contacted by Michelle.”
“She sent me a fax to ask what my schedule was for this week.”
“Michelle said they would love to have me along to meet the team. If I tell them to be positive and that they can win and then I go ahead with a demonstration in which I bend a spoon, that will amaze them.”

“Uri Geller gave an absolutely resonating talk on his life and career. He had every single magician in the room on the edge of their seats trying to digest as much information as they could. Uri emphasized that the path to frame is through uniqueness and charisma and that professional entertainers must be creative in their pursuits of success and never shy away from publicity.”
