A FROG called Yuri is claimed to be the first living creature to undergo magnetic levitation. Yuri spent 15 minutes
suspended two feet above the ground by a magnetic field, in a laboratory at Nijmegen University in the Netherlands. Physicist Dr Andre Geim said the frog had suffered no ill effects. But Michael van den Boschof the Dutch animal rights group GAIA accused him of abusing Yuri. Mr van den Bosch said: “Frogs have feelings too. He was probably suffering in silence. Frogs should get airborne the natural way – by jumping.”
