Healer Uri’s Mind Medicine
On Sunday November 19, Michael Courtney-Hunt and Neil Starkey had the opportunity to interview Uri Geller at the southend Leisure and Tennis Centre. They had earlier seen Uri deliver an absorbing lecture entitled ‘Mind Medicine’ at the Natural Healing Exhibition for the Mind Body Soul weekend in Southend-on-sea. During the lecture he revealed how we can all attain prosperity in whatever we want- the mind, the body, employment, personal possessions-anything. Uri stated that the key to prosperity was neutral and one’s own individual goals determined the use the key was put to. Neil commented that Uri is not one to be ‘suited and booted’. This ever ebullient ‘Brit’, (Uri has just received his British passport), presented himself in the trademark T-shirt and casual slacks style that subtly purposes to relax an audience. Minds were read, a seed sprouted in the palm of the hand, witnessed at close range by Michael, and the obligatory spoon was bent, although the bright spark with the plastic fork was politely declined.
Neil told PN that the interview was a delight to do. Neil said, “We asked questions we thought PN readers wanted answered on mediumship and healing, but Mr. Geller’s exuberance and sense of humor were irresistible and I began with the trivial, asking him what the largest item ever brought for psychic repair had been. He told us about televisions and grandfather clocks bundled onto the stage, but the largest item was brought on by sack barrow – a fridge freezer, but alas, ‘the appliance of science’ did not respond.
I asked the key question, has he ever sat for development as a spiritual medium or wanted to? Uri’s reply was succinct. He told us that he believes he should stick to using his own natural psychic powers to their fullest potential and leave spirit world contact to those with a natural gift of mediumship, for whom he has a deep respect and admiration. He added that it was his job on earth to promote high optimism and positiveness in as many people as he possibly could”.
Uri knows that there is an afterlife, evidenced by an event that occurred whilst serving as a paratrooper in the Israeli army during the six day war of 1967. A situation arose where he had no choice but to shoot dead a Jordanian soldier. It was kill or be killed. This soldier occasionally haunts Uri in his dream state, asking ‘why why had Uri shot him?’ Uri knows that after he passes he will have to face this man and answer this most piercing question before progressing. he openly accepts an afterlife and the existence of God.
When it came to the questions about healing, Uri was more detailed in his reply. As Neil stated, “He is not widely known as a healer, but as he allowed us more into his personal life a little, we discovered how he involved himself in individual cases only, where he can focus on just one person and use maximum intensity.
I had earlier talked to a lady whose son Uri had helped during a terminal illness. She said that she was forever in his debt for the way he had eased her son’s suffering. Uri Geller heals by empowering the positive mind, which in turn can heal the body. He has used his hands to channel energies in the past but claims he is impartial in doing this and should the recipient consider that healing energies are flowing through Uri’s hands to him or her, from wherever, then so be it. He will not dissuade them otherwise.
You cannot help but liking this enigmatic man. He exudes such drive and determination. He spent a long time as a “lab rat” and his abilities were rigorously tested.
Uri Geller stood the tests of the scientific world, those that sought to disprove his psychic abilities. Although those who conducted these tests, do not shout it from rooftops, Uri Geller is the real thing.
Spiritual purists may never be at ease with the affluence gained from his psychic gifts, but his honesty and integrity are without doubt. He was poor, he needed money, and he made it. He enjoys the friendship of the rich and the famous, not such a bad thing when you have a message to impart and a job to do on this plane.
For Michael and I, the most thought provoking point came when Uri explained how he had received telepathically the color yellow in his mind from the lecture audience. We assumed he ‘saw’ yellow. Not the case. He created a receiving screen in his mind and on this screen formed the words yellow. This reminded of one of the tools my development circle leader showed me to aid spirit communication, as my guide impressed words onto the receiving screen I viewed in my own mind. So transfer of information from human mind to human mind – telepathy. Transfer of information from spirit mind to human mind – mediumship. Could Uri Geller develop as a medium and if so…I think we shall never find out.”
