Paintings by Martina Busch
A word from Martina
Hello, my name is Martina. I was born in Dusseldorf, Germany in 1969. Art and creativity have been an important part of my life since I was very young. I began painting and drawing at the age of seven and with my abilities I achieved good marks in school. Nevertheless, the people and especially my teachers advised me to choose a secure way of education. Influenced by them, I decided to start a serious vocational training.
Since 1988, I have been working fulltime as a judicial officer, at first in Dusseldorf and since 1994 in Grevenbroich, a town between Dusseldorf and Cologne. However, painting and art have remained my passions.
Since I was young, I have been inspired by the King of Pop Michael Jackson, and his magical stage performances. Throughouta long period, I made a series of Michael Jackson paintings and drawings, sohwing my view of this artist and expressing the inspiration he was giving to me.
From portraits and stage performances, in acrylic on paper or cardboard, I came to different motives – characters, landscapes and skylines – which impressed and inspired me. I passed on to oil paint on canvas.
By looking at my art works, you can realize that many different motives have been appealing to me and inspiring me, so that I tried to bring them on paper or canvas. People with a special charisma are encouraging me to paint them as well as a nice town or a foreign country. Sometimes just the colours want to be harmonised.
I would like to thank my family, my dear husband and my wonderful son who is 13, and my friends – above all Uri and his family – for their love and support. Again and again they made it possible to express my emotions by painting.
I came to know Martina through an email that she sent me – with a request to forward a painting she had done of Michael Jackson to him as a gift. I asked her to email me a photograph of the painting, but when it arrived, I was astonished at her artistic abilities.
I’ve been involved in the world of art and painting for a long time myself, I’ve been a painter myself since I was a child, and I studied under Salvador Dali. Over the years, I have developed a sense for the aesthetic, a power to interpret brushstrokes and see inside the soul of the person wielding the brush, and in Martina’s work, I see an added dimension – they are clear, attractive, somewhat mysterious and her paintings seem to shout out proclaiming her artistic energy.
I am so impressed by her work that I have decided to showcase her paintings on my own website and make them available to people all over the world.
