Predictions

THE NEW AUSTRALIAN PRIME MINISTER AND THE “STRANGER ON A PLANE”

The Australian General Election result came as no surprise to the person who, some ten years ago, found himself Beckenhamssharing and airplane with a Young and enthusiastic politician. Point-blank he told him that he would be Prime Minister of Australia. That was in 1985; on March 1st 1996 that prediction became reality. John Howard is the new prime minister and Uri Geller was the man giving him fair warning of what fate had planned for him.

Should any have doubts as to the truth of this story, may I suggest they beg, steal, borrow or buy – a copy of “The Geller Effect” by Uri Geller and Guy Lyon Playfair, published in 1986, and study carefully page 131 of the hardback (165 paperback). The proof of it’s veracity is there in black and white.

It is interesting to note the purpose of Uri Geller’s flight, the day he met that Australian politician with an interesting future; he was working for a mining company who had asked for his assistance in finding diamonds. To cut a long – and remarkable – story short, their use of unorthodox methods of prospecting paid off.

When asked about his powers Uri Geller’s reactions can be surprising. It is nakedly apparent that the nature of some of them are as much a mystery to Uri as they are to others. He considers them from a different angle; as enabling devices. When teaching others he firmly puts across the message that he is giving them the keys to unlock their own potential. To maximize their own unused resources, whatever their field of endeavor; be it business, sport or the arts, Uri sees himself as the carrier of the keys to some awkward and often encountered locks that prevent us from believing in ourselves. Who knows, perhaps he helped a certain young Australian Politician achieve the highest office in his land.

The following is an excerpt from ‘THE GELLER EFFECT’ by Uri Geller and Guy Lyon Playfair. When Uri Gelleexploring for minerals in the Solomon Islands the following took place:-

While I was there, a plane-load of international investment brokers came out to inspect the mine and assess its prospects. At first, Peter Sterling introduced me as just a friend who happened to be passing through, but by the end of their trip they had found out what I was really up to. We all flew back to Australia together, and during the flight I entertained them with some spoon-bending. I hope they were pleased as much by this as by the fact that Zanex shares had risen by more than 100 per cent in the few months since I had begun working for the company.

I had also provided some impromptu in-flight entertainment on my way to the islands, on the internal route from Sydney to Brisbane. It came about in this way.

One of the stewardesses brought me a note from a man named John Howard, asking if I could supply his three children with a signed photograph of me as a souvenir of one of my television shows they had seen and enjoyed. Peter Sterling told me he was a well-known Australian politician, so I had the girl ask if he would like to meet me. We duly met, and I bent a spoon for him in the usual way, allowing him to hold it himself for the last part of the process. Then he asked, ‘What do you feel about me?’

‘I have a feeling you will be prime minister of Australia one day,’ I answered at once. Peter then told me that Mr Howard had just been elected Leader of the Opposition, and could very well be the next leader of his country.

SPOOKY.

Daniel Blight, of Channel 9’s London office, got a phone call on Sunday from Uri Geller, suggesting he look at the 1986 book The Geller Effect. In it Geller writes of a flight from Sydney to Brisbane in 1985:

One of the stewardesses brought me a note from a man named John Howard, asking if I could supply his three children with a signed photograph of me as a souvenir… [A friend] told me he was a well- known Australian politician… We duly met, and I bent a spoon for him in the usual way, allowing him to hold it himself for the last part of the process. Then he asked, “What do you feel about me?” “I have a feeling you will be Prime Minister of Australia one day,” I answered at once. [The businessman] then told me that Mr Howard had just been elected Leader of the Opposition, and could very well be the next leader of his country.

BEFORE the Australian Skeptics call – Mr Howard went on to lose the 1987 election against Mr Hawke, and Mr Keating eventually became the “next leader of his country”.

Psychic predicts Howard as PM

FAMOUS Israeli psychic Uri Geller met Federal Opposition Leader John Howard on the flight between Brisbone and Sydney last year and predicted he would be prime minister.
Speaking from his London home, Uri said he developed a feeling that Mr Howard would lead Australia.
“I was on a flight last year between Sydney and Brisbane when a stewardess told me one of the passengers, a well-known Australian politician, had asked for an autographed photograph to take home to his children,” he said.
Uri was introduced to John Howard and duly bent a spoon for him.
“He then asked me how I felt about him.” Uri said.
“I replied ‘I have a feeling you will be Prime Minister of Australia one day’.”
Uri also spoke yesterday of his stint as a dowser for three Australian diamond companies.
Using his “telepathic powers”, he was employed to locate rich deposits.
“I agreed to act as a dowser for a small mining company in Melbourne called Zanex because I liked the managing director, Peter Sterling. and we became good friends,” Uri said.
“I warned him not to let the press know I was helping him. But the papers did find out and it caused such a controversy.”
“Then strangely enough news that I was working with the company caused the share prices to go up.”
Uri told Zanex to mine a previously unexplored area of the Solomon Islands.
Early reports are positive and Zanex is now mining for gold and diamonds on Malaita Island.
Uri also worked for two other miners, but will say little about his activities.
“The two people are both very flamboyant and known world-wide,” Uri said.
“They definitely wouldn’t want me to talk about it.”
“I will say that one of my attempts was a success and the other a failure.”
“But even the failures can be successes without me knowing it. Whether I locate zinc, copper or diamonds. Whether they find it or not. Sometimes to drill costs six or seven million dollars.”

PREMONITION SAVED URI’S LIFE

By PASCALE PALMER

TV PSYCHIC Uri Geller told last night how his life was saved after a premonition of the Paddington rail disaster.(on 5th October 1999)

He was about to catch the doomed train when his brother-in-law begged him to go by road instead. Uri heeded the warning – and was stunned when he heard on his car radio that the train had crashed.

Last night, spoon-bending Uri, 53, said he owes his life to the vision of death seen by Shipi Shtrang, who is also his manager.

He said: “It makes me shudder to think what might have happened. I owe my life to Shipi.”

Uri had aimed to catch the train at Reading on his way to record an interview about a new book for BBC TV. Instead he travelled by chauffeur-driven car.
