Forget Jeremy Clarkson. If you want to hear an angry celeb getting incoherently outraged about a supercar, ask me to describe the Maserati GranTurismo. It’s a four-seater that does 190 over 100 in under a minute. And that’s not a speed… it’s my blood pressure.
The contestant, identified only as Amila, 26, was sealed in a tank which filled with water.
Taking part on “The Next Uri Geller”, where the spoon-bending illusionist has invited contestants to compete for the title of his successor, she was unable to guess a four-figure code that would get her out.
Despite having two attempts at guessing the code, she was only able to get two of the numbers right.
Unable to escape, the tank filled up with water and she was completely under for around 25 seconds.
A show assistant then had to break open the lock with bolt cutters and pull her out of the tank.
Viewers of the show, which is screen on German television channel ProSieben, are invited to phone in to vote for one of the evening’s contestants to continue through to the next round.
Amila managed to get voted through despite her failure to perform the trick.
A show insider told The Sun: “This was a nightmare. She had four numbers to guess through her powers and she only got two. She was on the way to a watery grave.”
Amila has not commented on the incident.
