Two held on suspicion of murder in Geller case
TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a mother-of-two missing for 18 months, police said yesterday.
Lynsey Quy, 21, was last seen at her home in Southport, Merseyside, at Christmas 1998, when her husband, Mitchell Quy, said she walked out on him.
She was reported missing by social services in February 1999.
Merseyside Police said yesterday that two men, aged 25 and a 52, had been arrested on suspicion of murder.
At the time of his wife’s disappearance Mr Quy made a public plea for her, the motiber of their children, Robyn, four, and Jack, two, to return.
The unemployed former casino croupier said their three-year marriage had broken up but that they had agreed to stay together for their clffidrens sake.
The search for Mrs.Quy included a TV appeal and assistance from psychic Uri Geller.
A spokesman for the force said yesterday, “A 25-year-old man from the Southport area and a 52- year-old man from Burscough have been arrested by Merseyside Police in comection with the murder of Lynsey Quy.
The two men were arrested this morning and are currently being interviewed at a police station on Merseyside.”
Mrs Quy’s parents, Peter and Linda Wilson, were yesterday reported to be “very pleased” about the arrests.
A police family liaison officer was with them at their home in Southport.
The couple, who have always believed their daughter was murdered, have carried out their own searches of forests, lakes and parklands.
When they called in Uri Geller to help find her body he said he believed she was near water.
