Uri Geller tells how he ‘forced Russians to sign nuclear arms treaty’ using his telepathy skills
PSYCHIC Uri Geller has told how US spooks used his strange telepathic skills to force the Russians to sign a nuclear arms treaty during the cold war.
He claims he was flown by the secretive organisation to Switzerland where he “bombarded” the mind of a top Russian official to make him sign the historic deal.
Yesterday we told how newly released CIA documents reveal Geller was subjected to a series of bizarre secret experiments that aimed to weaponize psychic abilities.
Speaking to the Mirror from his home in Israel, Geller said: “The release of these secret documents surprises me because I continued working for the CIA after those experiments and I am very surprised they allowed such information out.
“The CIA tested me at Stanford Research Institute, and I passed all the sets under laboratory controlled conditions, and I did that twice, so there was no way of cheating or hoodwinking them.
“Then the most extraordinary tests were done at the Lawns Livermore Radiation Labs, where they carry out nuclear research. They wanted to see if my mind could trigger a nuclear weapon.”
He then claimed Washington wanted him to convince the Russians to sign the nuclear arms reduction treaty telepathically.
“I got very close to Yuli Vorontsov who was the head Russian nuclear negotiator. I know it sounds fantastical, science fiction, but I actually bombarded his mind to sign the treaty and they signed,” he claimed.
A newly released cache of CIA documents reveals UFO sightings and psychic experiments from the “Stargate programme”, which has long been of interest to conspiracy theorists.
The project was the codename for a secret US Army unit established in 1978 at Fort Meade, Maryland, by the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA).
It aimed to investigate the potential for psychic phenomena to be used by the military and intelligence services.
The Stargate programme inspired the 2009 film The Men Who Stare At Goats starring George Clooney and Ewan McGregor.
Some of the files surround the weird investigation and reveal how Geller was probed during a week-long series of tests.
During these experiments he was asked to sit in a sealed and monitored room.
One of the tests involved drawings. A word was selected at random from a dictionary.
The first word selected was “fuse”. A firecracker was then drawn by someone outside the locked room.
The picture was then taped to the wall outside Geller’s cell and he was told via intercom the drawing was finished.
The CIA documents say: “His almost immediate response was that he saw a ‘cylinder with noise coming out of it’.
“His drawing to correspond with it was a drum, along with a number of cylindrical-looking objects.”
The second word chosen was “bunch” and a scientist drew a bunch of grapes.
“He then talked about ‘purple circles’.
“Finally, he said that he was quite sure that he had the picture. His drawing was indeed a bunch of grapes.”
The researchers concluded Uri “demonstrated his paranormal perceptual ability in a convincing and unambiguous manner”.
In 2013 Uri Geller has lifted the lid on his secret past as a SPY — and told how his spoon-bending antics were just a cover.
The TV magician has revealed details of his years as an operative for the both
the CIA and Israel’s feared Mossad agency during the Cold War.

“Uri Geller gave an absolutely resonating talk on his life and career. He had every single magician in the room on the edge of their seats trying to digest as much information as they could. Uri emphasized that the path to frame is through uniqueness and charisma and that professional entertainers must be creative in their pursuits of success and never shy away from publicity.”

“The man is a natural magician. He does everything with great care, meticulous misdirection and flawless instinct. The nails are real, the keys are really borrowed, the envelopes are actually sealed, there are no stooges, there are no secret radio devices and there are no props from the magic catalogues.”
