GELLER SENDS ULSTER ROUND BEND
SPOON bender Uri Geller had hundreds of Ulster people reaching for their phones on Friday night, during his appearance on the Kelly show.
The controversial personality, who claims psychic powers, asked viewers to place a spoon on top of their TV sets.
Kelly producer, Shauna Hawthorne, said: “Uri never explained what was supposed to happen. But we had literally hundreds of phone calls from people who said the spoon had leapt from the top of their TV.”
“We have never had such a huge response to anything on the show before,” she added.
One viewer even faxed in a photograph of the flying spoon, and claimed his camera had gone off by itself.
At the UTV studio, a member of a guest band asked Geller if he could bend a key.
“Uri put the key in his hand, and sure enough it bent,” said Shauna “It was the musician’s front door key. When he went home he had to get a spare one from a neighbour, to let himself in.”
