LIFELINE
TIME STOOD STILL: For Israeli psychic Uri Geller on Sunday when he claimed to have stopped Big Ben Britain’s most famous clock for three hours. At the time, Geller said he was in Israel watching director Ken Russell shoot a movie about his life. A journalist, commenting on a scene depicting Geller stopping a clock, suggested he order Big Ben to halt. Geller told Reuters: “It was almost as a Joke. But I said to myself ‘stop’ while concentrating on the clock. Then I forgot about the whole thing.” When he heard the clock actually had stopped, he was “shocked.” A House of Commons maintenance engineer said Big Ben stopped due to a tight bearing.
