THAI BODY PIERCING A Thai devotee holds cogs and chains that are piercing his cheeks during the annual nine-day Vegetarian festival in Puket, in southern Thailand. Thousands joined a procession through the streets, where participants pierce their bodies and faces with sharp objects to bring themselves good health and prosperity.
TEARS OF GLASS Hasna Missilmani, the 12-year-old Lebanese Muslim girl, opens her eye as she cries crystal tears. About ten of these crystal stones fall each day from her left eye without causing any injury or pain. Experts are baffled by this strange phenomenon.
